Great Walk and Gorgeous Scenery

The gorge of Anidri is small yet lovely. It is located in the Paleochora region, at the south-west end of the Chania Prefecture. It runs from the village of Anidri to the magnificent twin beaches at Gialiskari, which are separated by a small peninsula thick with junipers

Our guided tour starts at 10:00 from our office.
About 15 or 20 minutes later we arrive at the village of Anidri.
Arrived there you have plenty of time to take a look at this beautiful mountain village, the old School house converted to a restaurant and the Byzantine church of Saint George, dating from 1323 a.C.
From there we start our walk to the gorge.
Anidri gorge it is not big but impressive.Remote peaks with smooth slopes, extensive olive groves, orchards, chestnut trees, and plane trees growing in ravines and damp spots, make up a wonderful setting, gentler in comparison to the eastern part of the Kandanos-Selinos area, and full of characteristic colors and scents.
It is 2 kilometers and requires less than an hour to get through it.
We will end our walk at the magnificent twin beaches at Gialiskari, which are separated by a small peninsula thick with junipers.Stop for refreshment and a small lunch at the Beach-Cantina
From there you have two options. If you feel tired, you can return with our guide back to Paleochora. If you want to enjoy the crystal waters of Gialiskari, you can stay there the whole evening and get to Paleochora independently, following the famous E4 path.
This excursion is an alternative way to explore the beauty of Paleochora region and feel close to the nature.
